Antique Whitney Electrical Instrument Co. Ammeter – Circa 1900

An exceptional piece of early American electrical history, this antique DC ammeter was manufactured by the Whitney Electrical Instrument Company of Penacook, New Hampshire, around the turn of the 20th century.

Featuring an incredibly detailed, ornate cast-metal face, raised lettering, decorative scrollwork, and a beautifully aged copper-toned gauge, this remarkable instrument represents the craftsmanship of America's early electrical age.

Originally designed to measure direct electrical current up to 600 amperes, instruments of this type were used in early industrial electrical systems, power-generating facilities, and electrical installations.

More than a century old, this impressive instrument retains its authentic aged patina and industrial character. Mounted on a custom black iron pipe stand, it makes a striking display piece for collectors of early electrical equipment, industrial antiques, and steampunk décor.
