• Dating: I'd call this approximately 1940s–1950s vintage, possibly early 1960s
• From the raised rectangular "Continental" logo, cast/formed shape and six mounting points, This would put this in the older Continental A/C-series through early O-series family, roughly 1940s–1960s. It could very plausibly have come from an A-65, C-85, C-90 or early O-200.
• Antique gear base
