This lamp features a rotating "propeller" that turns at a steady rate of 6 rotations per minute. Inside are actual Franklin engine cylinders with a real spark plug!
This Topaz Orange cowling is a unique piece, crafted from a 1946 Stinson 108 Voyager airplane's cowling. History is known! Serial number of 108-1376 and known tail number of N4040V. Last flew in Idaho. This is sure to add a touch of industrial and aviation style to any space.
Lamp Specifics
o This vintage Stinson engine cowling was re-purposed as a fun and interesting antique aviation wall lamp.
o This engine cowling was originally manufactured by the Stinson Aircraft Company in the late 1940’s.
o Its recognizable chrome grills are also vintage Stinson.
o The Stinson emblem is vintage, stainless steel, and removed from the instrument panel of a Stinson aircraft.
o Where the propeller used to be is now the coolest Edison style bulbs we could find. They are huge!
o The lamp's "propeller” rotates at a rate of 6 revolutions per minute. The rotation feature can be activated or deactivated using the built-in switch. The rotating mechanism was professionally built by SEMCO motion.
· Vintage Franklin engine cylinder completes the internal look.
· The attached dimmer switch will allow you to adjust to any light levels.
· The bulbs are secured with heavy duty high quality light sockets. Sockets are common medium size.
· The lamp cord is heavy duty, with a ground. All surfaces of the lamp are grounded for safety.
· Electrical components used in the making of these lamps are UL approved.
· All new wiring is secured, safe, and meets safety standards.
· Mounting
o Hangs on the wall like a picture with two screws 16 inches apart.
o Cord runs out the bottom and plugs into any existing wall outlet.
o Electrician could hard wire for a clean cordless look controlled via a wall switch.
