Machine Age Lamps' Steampunk Lighting Selected for Innovation Avenue
February 25 2014 Written by Shawn Carling
Lakeville, Minnesota (February 26, 2014) – Antique steampunk lighting manufacturer, Machine Age Lamps, was selected to be part of Innovation Avenue at this year’s Minneapolis Home + Garden Show. The company’s unique, hand-crafted creations caught the attention of the show’s organizers, who named steampunk industrial lighting as one of only 14 products to be highlighted from among the show’s 800 different exhibitors.
Innovation Avenue was a special section in the show that highlighted the latest innovations homeowners can buy for their homes. Set up at one of the highest traffic areas of the exhibit, it gave featured companies an unparalleled location to advertise their products and their booths for free to tens of thousands of visitors.
The selection for Innovation Avenue also meant that Machine Age Lamps’ products were presented in Innovation Avenue LIVE! on the Lifestyle Stage by an HGTV celebrity host. This year, Sasha Andreev presented the selections and demonstrated the features and benefits of the company’s steampunk light furnishings. All of the selections were also described in detail on the event’s website, and several were featured in television and print interviews.
Proud to have been selected for Innovation Avenue, Machine Age Lamps thankfully greeted the increased attention their products received during the show. Homeowners curious to find out just why the company’s products were featured are encouraged to MachineAgeLamps
About Machine Age Lamps, LLC
The idea behind Machine Age Lamps developed from Shawn Carling’s desire to give his father something unique for Christmas. The artist drew on his passion for industrial antiques and turned to inspiration from steampunk evangelists, such as H. G. Wells, Mary Shelly, and Paul Di Filippo, to create a one-of-a-kind lamp from a Farmall tractor dash. Popular demand prompted Carling to establish a business around the concept, and Machine Age Lamps was born. The company has grown rapidly since, primarily by word-of-mouth.
